Header and Logo

The header (top of the page) is where your visitors will will make their "first impression". It should be eye catching as well as give them a sense of comfort that they are in familiar territory, thus the importance of a consistent header throughout your site. Custom header and logo design are both included as standard features in every Arizona PhotoGraphix Website.

Menus

Believe it or not, your site navigation structure is the single most important feature of your website!  If your vistors can't find what they are looking for, they will leave. It is highly recommended that you use a layout that is commonly used on many other popular websites, mainly because someone has already gone to the trouble of usability testing and we already know it works. There are two navigation layouts that are the most common in the industry; horizontal (usually located near your sites header) and vertical, (usually located along the left side of the sites content).

It is well known that human beings are creatures of habit, and since so many of your visitors will already be in the habit of looking in a certain place to find what they are looking for, it is best not to try and confuse them with an incredibly “unique”, or flashy design. You will lose them in the blink of an eye if they are lost and find your site confusing or difficult to navigate, no matter how unique and beautiful it may be.

We suggest a horizontal main menu for your main links. This can be either above or below your header. Secondary it is nice to have a set of “quick links” (usually vertically rendered on the left). These links will change depending on where in the site you are. This will help your visitors navigate through the sub-layers of your site. This is mainly used if your site has a lot of content. Otherwise the horizontal menu may be all you need and affords you the most space for your content.
